Dear Chief Gourley,

Terror linked Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) issued a press release on February 2, 2023 titled “CAIR-OK, CAIR LDF Welcome OKC Police’s Decision to Instruct its Officers to Disregard FBI Watchlist.”  

CAIR LOST its law suit which challenged the constitutionality of the Terror Screening Database (TSDB).  On May 28, 2021, the full U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit issued the final ruling on the case which upheld the Terror Watch list as constitutional.  

CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in the 2009 Holy Land Foundation (HLF) retrial, the largest terrorism financing case in American history.  In November 2014, the United Arab Emirates designated CAIR as a terrorist organization.

CAIR has not found a law enforcement tool or statute that is designed to protect citizens from acts of terror that it likes and will not challenge.

Please continue to use the Terror Screening Database when and where appropriate to enhance public safety.
